SYTG is run entirely by volunteers and has both an educational aspect as well as an entertainment aspect.

Of the many benefits of the group to its members the initial acceptance of all, within a specified age range, regardless of ability to pay which has ensured a fantastic musical theatre experience available to all. In order to maintain the low costs to the members it is essential that funding is gained from outside sources via grants or sponsorship particularly during one of the many public performances which thrill and entertain audiences throughout the district. Sponsorship of specific aspects of the group, a piece of equipment, an individual or group or indeed a general gift for raffle or funds will be gratefully received.

Amongst our current funding projects are:

· Obtaining specialist musical equipment including a variety of salsa instruments, multi functional xylophone and radio microphones

· Replacing our very worn out laptop computer - we aim to purchase 2 new ones with wireless capability for use of the members to edit photographs and access our web training programmes

The forthcoming public performance in the Gala Theatre which will cost in the region of £20,000

We have been fortunate to receive a grant from the local Co-Op Dividend Fund of £1000 towards our forthcoming performance of 'Seussical the Musical' to be used for sound equipment and pyrotechnics. The cheque was presented to Chair Bob Harbisher and the principle cast for the show (photograph below). Many thanks to the society for their very generous donation.
